Amanda Abizaid’s “Hold On My Heart” (Bilingual Remix) – a Postcard from The Soul

With her latest release, Amanda Abizaid isn’t just giving us a remix – she is giving us a postcard from the soul.

“Hold On My Heart (Bilingual Remix)” is a lush, bilingual journey that brings the personal with the global, the acoustic with the electronic and the nostalgic with the hopeful for the future.

Listen in here:

This is definitely the kind of track you throw on during golden hour, letting it wrap around you like a warm breeze coming off the Mediterranean.

Originally a folk-pop gem co-written with Lindsay Gillis, the song has been re-birthed with producer Dave D’Addario into something that pulses with an entirely new energy. The intro opens gently with acoustic guitar, the pull of memory, a voice that feels like it’s lived a thousand lives. But just over a minute in, the beat drops and suddenly we are dancing through the streets of Beirut, where past and future collide.

Abizaid says:

“These Middle Eastern beats take you on a visual walk down the corniche Beirut, a seaside promenade in the central district of Lebanon, traveling in our minds to the beautiful, flowered gardens and Mountains to cobblestone sidewalk outdoor cafes, all the while we reminisce on how we hoped for the love not to be lost but that the sun will shine again.

Knowing when it’s time to move on allows me to give myself a chance to heal and feel love. I’ve learned that all I can do is to keep my heart open for the chance of love again.

There is a cinematic sweep to this re-mix – Middle Eastern rhythms glide beneath Amanda’s rich, emotive vocals telling a story that transcends borders. The bilingual delivery is seamless, not just a stylistic choice but an honest reflection of Amanda’s identity. It’s almost as if she is letting us in to her inner world.

And that’s the magic of “Hold On My Heart”. It is deeply rooted in Amanda’s experience growing up during wartime in Lebanon, but it refuses to be weighed down by sadness and sorrow. Instead, it lifts. It soars. It dances. As Amanda sings of moving on and keeping the heart open, the music mirrors that transformation and builds from reflection into celebration.

If you’ve ever felt the sting of a goodbye but still held onto hope, “Hold On My Heart” (Bilingual Remix) is your anthem. It’s proof that healing doesn’t always look like silence. It can sound like basslines, hand drums and a voice that refuses to give up on love.

Amanda Abizaid has long been a force in the world of cross-cultural, conscious music. With this remix, she’s showing us yet again how to turn poetry into a global groove.
