In their latest collaborative effort, Canadian heavyweights DIEMETIC and LØSTRONAUT lean all the way into the chaos, offering up a distorted, groove-laced dubstep banger that proves once again they’re not here to play it safe.
Coming hot off the heels of their breakout track “Beat Em” — which has racked up nearly 100k streams on Spotify – “Bored” doesn’t just meet expectations, but it mutates them into something wilder, heavier and undeniably more fun.
Listen in here:
The track opens with a deceptively minimal intro before the bottom drops out and we’re launched into a vortex of warped basslines, wobbly textures and glitched-out percussion.
Where most tracks build to a single moment, “Bored” lives in constant transformation. Every section delivers a new twist, keeping listeners on edge with jagged drops, rhythm flips and unexpected syncopation.
What makes this track stand out is its sense of intentional disorder. DIEMETIC and Løstronaut strike a razor-sharp balance between aggression and rhythm, creating a sound that’s not only massive on a system but undeniably danceable. It’s dubstep with soul and movement.
Canadian Andrew Heffernan, who started creating Bass House under the name DIEMETIC says:
“After the success of “Beat Em”, which has amassed nearly 100k streams on Spotify, Løstronaut and I felt like we had tapped into something special – an energy that resonated with fans of heavy, groove-driven dubstep. That track set the bar high, so when we got back in the studio, we wanted to create something that kept that same raw intensity but with a fresh approach.
“Bored” came from that mindset – taking the signature wobbly bass and groove we love but pushing it into a more unpredictable and dynamic direction. It’s a track that thrives on controlled chaos, where heavy drops and rhythmic switch-ups keep listeners locked in from start to finish. The title “Bored” reflects that restless creative drive we both share. Instead of falling into patterns or making a typical festival banger, we aimed to inject more character and movement into the track – something that would feel both relentless and hypnotic. The result is a fusion of deep, wobbly basslines, intricate sound design, and a groove that makes it impossible to stand still. It’s not just about aggression; it’s about movement, flow, and making a statement in the scene. Coming off the momentum of “Beat Em”, this track is a reminder that we’re here to innovate, not imitate.”
And while “Bored” bangs hard enough it also is full of intricate sound design, layered textures and transitions.
While “Beat Em” was a warning shot, “Bored” is the full blown invasion. With this track, DIEMETIC and Løstronaut are staking their claim as innovators in a scene that often leans too hard on formulas. This is forward thinking bass music with teeth, swagger and a whole load of character.
About DIEMETIC
DIEMETIC is the bass driven alias of Canadian producer and DJ Andrew Heffernan. Since launching the project on 31st October in 2015, he’s been shaking dance floors with his explosive blend of Bass House, Dubstep and low-end energy. His debut EP Natural Sweetener spent over a year on the Vacation Records Top 10 Beatport chart and laid the groundwork for a career defined by forward-thinking sound design and relentless groove.
DIEMETIC quickly built a reputation for high-octane sets, eventually taking that energy to stages across North America and Europe. From breaking a stage at Summer Soulstice to sharing lineups with DJ Snake, Sullivan King, and Excision, his festival appearances have become legendary for their intensity and unpredictability.
With multiple tracks charting on Beatport, including the #1 smash “Gameboy” and the fan-favorite “Dip Em” (played at both EDC Las Vegas and Lost Lands), DIEMETIC has consistently pushed the boundaries of bass music. Collaborations with artists like Rico Act, Hypesetterz, Circuit FreaQ, and Lostrønaut have solidified his spot as a tastemaker in the underground and beyond.
Now based in Edmonton Alberta, DIEMETIC continues to innovate with every release and performance. Recent drops like “Beat Em” and “Bored” show his signature mix of groove and chaos, proving that for DIEMETIC the only rule is to keep it heavy and keep it moving.
